ALUMINIUM

ALUMINIUM

Aluminium is naturally corrosion resistant, durable, lightweight and affordable. It’s the go to metal for almost any project. It is easy to work with and has a high fatigue strength. If left raw it will dull over time however it takes well to finishing processes such as anodising, powdercoating, painting, blasting and sublimation. It is perfect for prototypes and products such as hinges, brackets, boxes, screens and signs.
  • Affordable
  • Malleable
  • Corrosion Resistant

  • Lightweight
  • Takes to finishing processes well
  • Versatile
  • 100% recyclable

CORTEN/WEATHERING STEEL

CORTEN/WEATHERING STEEL

This is an architectural grade of steel used for making laser cut screens and garden sculptures. It has a high resistance to atmospheric corrosion and the copper content helps in the development of its unique rusty look patina. Corten is corrosion resistant and will last longer than mild steel.

MILD STEEL

MILD STEEL

Mild Steel is the cheapest and most commonly used steel in the construction industries. We carry both Hot Rolled and Cold Rolled Mild Steel.

Hot rolled carbon steel is created when the steel is rolled at high temperatures (>900°C). The steel is then cooled at room temperature, which stabilizes the material and prevents internal or microscopic stresses from forming. Hot rolled carbon steel is easily welded, and works well in structural applications where strength is needed and an aesthetic finish is less of a concern.

Cold rolled carbon steel is hot rolled then cooled at room temperature. It’s then re-rolled at room temperature for a smoother, more precise finish. Because it’s work hardened, it is stronger than hot rolled steel. This makes it better suited for bending and fabrication than other mild steels but this is also reflected in the pricing.

  • Durable
  • Easily Weldable
  • Takes to galvanising & painting well

STAINLESS STEEL

STAINLESS STEEL

Stainless steel is a versatile, corrosion resistant metal. The unique blend of alloy elements gives laser cut stainless steel parts a sleek finish that can be easily improved upon by further finishing processes.

Stainless steel is best suited to highly corrosive or high stress environments. It is widely used in the marine, aerospace, medical and construction industries as well as kitchen appliances and cookware.

We offer 3 grades of stainless steel. 316 marine grade, 304 and 3CR12. 316 Marine grade stainless steel is best for use outdoors or in coastal environments as it was created with corrosion resistance in mind. 304 stainless steel is substantially cheaper and best used inland away from marine environments. 3CR12 is a low cost utility stainless steel that resists corrosion 250 times better than mild steel.
  • Durable
  • Easily to sanitize
  • Lightweight
  • Oxidation resistant
  • Weldable
